How it starts

You never have to explain everything on the first call. Here is what happens, step by step, from the first call to regular sessions.

  1. 15 minutes, by phone

    Book a short call

Pick a time online for a 15-minute phone call. Tell us a little about what brings you in, only as much as you want to share.

  2. 50 or 75 minutes

    First session

You meet your therapist, talk about what you want from therapy and decide whether to continue.

  3. Weekly or every two weeks

    Regular sessions

Most clients meet weekly or every two weeks. You can book, change or cancel online.

  4. Every few sessions

    Check in together

Every few sessions, you and your therapist talk about what is helping and what to change.

2:00 p.m.Afternoon

Clear fees and receipts for your health plan

About our practice

We do not ask clients for reviews or testimonials, and you will not find any on this site. Our college's advertising standard does not allow them, and every client should feel free to keep their therapy private.

Read the CRPO advertising standard. To learn how we work, read about our therapists and their training instead.

Questions before you book

Anything else, ask on your first call or email us. We reply within one working day.

Is therapy covered by my health plan?

Many extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist. Check your plan's yearly maximum and whether it covers psychotherapy before your first session.

Do you charge HST?

No. Psychotherapy services from Registered Psychotherapists are exempt from GST/HST.

What should I do if I am in crisis?

We cannot offer crisis support between sessions. Call or text 9-8-8 at any time. In Ottawa, you can also call the Distress Centre at 613-238-3311. If you are in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Can I have online sessions if I live outside Ottawa?

Yes, as long as you are in Ontario at the time of each session.

How do you protect my information?

Your file is kept in practice software that stores data in Canada, and only your therapist reads your notes. We share information only with your consent or when the law requires it, as Ontario's health privacy law sets out.

8:00 p.m.Last session ends

Start with a short call. We keep the light on until eight.
