The brief
The owners wanted a bathroom they could stay in as they got older. The old tub was hard to step into and the floor was always cold.
What we did
- We lowered the subfloor so the shower could be curbless, with a linear drain along the wall.
- The whole shower has a waterproof membrane, flood tested before tiling.
- Large-format porcelain covers the floor and walls. A heated mat runs under the floor tile.
The result
The room is easier to use and easier to clean. The owners set the floor to warm up at 6:30 every morning.
