How we approach it
Ottawa basements need to handle cold winters and spring moisture. We find and fix any water problem before we frame, and we insulate to the Ontario Building Code.
Every basement starts with a moisture check. We look at the foundation, the grading outside and the sump pit. If water is getting in, we fix that first and show you what we found.
Walls are framed off the concrete with rigid insulation behind them. The finished room feels like the rest of the house, even in February.

Questions about basements
Can you build a legal secondary suite?
Yes. We handle the drawings, the permit and every inspection, including fire separation and exit windows.
Our ceiling is low. Can you help?
We box ducts tightly and use flush lights to keep as much height as we can. In some homes we can move ducts to raise part of the ceiling.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We apply for all building permits and book every inspection. The cost is included in your quote.
How far ahead are you booked?
Usually six to ten weeks for kitchens and basements. Smaller jobs can often start sooner.
