Sheet 21 / Hintonburg

Hintonburg

Brick semis and row houses on narrow lots, a short walk from Wellington Street West and the O-Train. Many homes here are more than a century old, so the questions are about wiring, roofs and shared walls.

Street notes

Before you buy in Hintonburg.

What we check for buyers here, in the order we usually check it.

  1. 01

Many semis share a wall and a roof line with the house next door. Ask when the neighbour last re-roofed.

  2. 02

Some older houses still have knob-and-tube wiring. Insurers often ask about it before they cover the home.

  3. 03

Many homes have no driveway. Check whether the street has on-street parking permits from the City.
